Why We Don’t Support Traditional Cash on Delivery

At our e-commerce company, we strive to provide the best service and ensure smooth transactions for our customers. However, traditional Cash on Delivery (COD) has posed significant challenges. Often, customers deny payment at the time of delivery, resulting in returned orders. According to our courier partner’s terms and conditions, each return incurs a charge of Rs. 120 to Rs. 150. This leads to a substantial loss for our company without any transaction being completed. Consequently, we have opted not to support the traditional Cash on Delivery model.

Introducing Secure & Safe Cash on Delivery

To address the challenges of traditional COD while still providing flexibility for our customers, we are excited to introduce a new and improved Cash on Delivery option. This option ensures both order protection and safe delivery without requiring 100% advance payment. Here’s how it works:

Advance Payment Requirement:

  • Customers must pay Rs. 150/- in advance to activate the Cash on Delivery option. This advance payment can be made through UPI, Gpay, PhonePe, or Paytm.

How Our New Cash on Delivery Works

  1. Example Scenario:
    • Order ID: #310XX
    • Order Value: Rs. 550/- (inclusive of tax and freight)
    • If the order fails or is canceled by the system and was not paid online, the customer can still opt for COD.
  2. Advance Payment:
    • The customer pays Rs. 150/- in advance to our bank account via the mentioned payment methods.
    • The customer sends us the payment receipt along with their order ID details.
  3. Order Processing:
    • We verify the payment.
    • The order is then processed with a COD value of Rs. 450/- (calculated as [Order Value Rs. 550/- + Rs. 50/- COD Charge – Rs. 150/- advance payment]).

Terms and Conditions for Cash on Delivery

To ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience, the following terms and conditions apply:

  1. Order Value:
    • The order value must be more than Rs. 500/-.
  2. COD Charges:
    • An additional Rs. 50/- COD charge will be added to the order value.
  3. Serviceable PIN Codes:
    • The delivery PIN code must be serviceable by our courier partner.
  4. Advance Payment:
    • All conditions must be met before the customer makes the Rs. 150/- advance payment to enable COD.

Important Note

If the customer fails to accept the delivery, denies payment at the time of delivery, or if the courier partner makes three unsuccessful delivery attempts, the Rs. 150/- advance payment will not be refunded.

By implementing this policy, we aim to provide a more secure and reliable Cash on Delivery option, minimizing risks and ensuring customer satisfaction.
